Your VAT 201, filled in before you ask
Every invoice and bill is VAT-tagged as it is recorded, so the VAT 201 return builds itself box by box, by emirate, with a link to every transaction behind every number.
How it works
- 1
Tag as you go
Each line gets its VAT treatment when it is recorded: standard, zero-rated, exempt or out of scope.
- 2
Review the return
Open the return, check each box, and drill into any number to see the entries behind it.
- 3
File and lock
Copy the figures into the FTA portal, record the filing, and the period locks.

Questions
Does Accountly file the return with the FTA?
You submit on the FTA portal using Accountly's figures. Direct filing will depend on the FTA's integration options.
Do you support the emirate split?
Yes. Standard-rated sales are split by emirate in Boxes 1a to 1g, based on where the supply is made.
Should a tax adviser still review it?
For your first returns, and for anything unusual, yes. Accountly does the preparation and keeps the evidence.
